Are you ready for 2019?

Are you ready for 2019?

Fail to Plan is a Plan to Fail….

A new year is right around the corner.  I cannot remember a time when I did not set goals for the New Year and review my accomplishments and disappointments for the previous year.

Take some time to be present and plan for your next year

In the next few posts,  I will take you through what I have done, with a few tweaks, over the past 25 years.  I enjoy reading how others plan and strategize and am always trying to make things better and more efficient.

I would like to hear how you plan for your new year in the comment section below.

In between, Christmas and New Years, I spend quite a bit of time meditating, thinking, and reviewing the  previous year.

Using a notebook, I just start to brain dump everything that I would like to improve from this year, and do for the following year.  That list can be huge at times.  I then look at my   bucket list and pick a few from there to add to my goals for the year.

If you haven’t done this before, here’s your chance to start.

Just grab a pen and pencil, or start a digital list…..

Ideas to get you thinking:

Are you happy with your weight?

  • Do you want to improve your financial situation?
  • Are you paying enough attention to your significant other?
  • Are there situations (people) that have hurt you that you need to let go of?
  • Any milestones coming up?

I am a planner. Although this year, things have been pretty hectic. I have some goals written down but need to get more serious about it!

Hard to find the time, sometimes, but so worth it for us planners 🙂

I’ve been doing some thinking and planning as well. I like your idea of brain dumping. Sometimes I have so many thoughts going on that it hinders me from moving forward. I’m gonna start dumping them so I can have them all written down to work on later. Then my mind will be clear! 🙂

You will feel so much better! I can’t function at my best when there’s so much floating around up there. Thanks for stopping by Elsie!

Yes to planning; without plans I’ll still get somewhere but maybe not where I want to go. Dad has always told us siblings, “If you’re living the way you’re supposed to be living, you don’t need to make resolutions.” So, I’ve never made resolutions but have made goals, plans and a lot of them have come to fruition.

What great advice from your Dad! I haven’t made a “resolution” forever, but have always set goals and then action items to meet those goals. Thanks so much for stopping by!!
